تتوزع الأوراق في الأخيميا على شكل وردة و بذلك تشكل في مركزها تقعر كبير يجب أن يبقى مملؤ بالماء حيث من هذا التقعر سيخرج الشمراخ الزهري لمرة واحدة في حياة النبات و بعدها تموت الأوراق ببطء و لكن أثناء الإزهار يعطي النبات بعض الخلفات الأرضية التي عندما يصبح حجمها نصف حجم النبات الأم تفصل في الربيع لتعيد دورة حياة النبات الأم
