من النباتات المنزليه التي تحظي بشعبيه كبيرة نظرا لكثافة و جمال أوراقها و كونها أيضا من النباتات دائمة الخضره. في بداية نمو النبات يشكل شجيره صغيرة و عند النضج يبدأ في تكوين سيقان و جذور هوائيه تساعده علي التسلق جيدا. النباتات الصغيرة لها أوراق بيضاويه ذات لون أخضر داكن أو متوسط و بدايات الأوراق قلبية الشكل و مع تقدم النبات في العمر تصبح الأوراق ذات شكل سهمي عليه رطوش من اللون الأخضر أو الرمادي الفاتح. عند النضج ينتج النبات زهور باللون الأبيض الكريمي في فصل الصيف يتبعها إنتاج زهور حمراء. النبات أيضا له خاصية تنقيه الهواء من الغازات السامه.
